Day 30 and 31

There are times when I feel specifically called by God to step out on a new venture but when I try it doesn’t work out for me.  Things come against me.  Sometimes things even get worse.  I feel like I’m not getting anywhere.

That must have been how Moses and the Israelites felt.  God had called them to leave Israel but Pharaoh resisted them.  No matter how many plagues God sent Pharaoh stood in the way. Moses just kept trusting God and following His directions.  It seems we too are often tested by obstacles in our path.  My experience has been to stay on course, obey God, and finally, sometimes after a long time, God works it all out.

I want to walk with you spiritually this year, inviting you to read the Bible through from cover to cover; from Genesis 1 all the way to Revelation 22:21.  If that sounds too difficult for you and your kids, you can join in again after you have taken a break or join us for the days you’re up to it.  We will start on Sunday, January 18th and finish Saturday, January 16, 2010.  I promise that you will understand the Bible in a much deeper way if you read it through from cover to cover in a year’s time.

Accept my challenge to read the Bible through in one year chronologically, including the Old and the New Testament.
I’m going to give you an extra challenge for the next few days only. We need to read 2 days readings each day until we catch up on the right day of the year, so we can finish by December 31, 2009.
Day 30: Today read:
Exodus 10:1-12:13
Matthew 20:1-28
Psalm 25:1-15
Proverbs 6:6-11

Day 31:
Exodus 12:14-13:16
Matthew 20:29-21:22
Psalm 25:16-22
Proverbs 6:12-15
